Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria Alpine

Even though Swiss Alps is the most famous in Europe, do you know Alpine stretches over 1200 kilometers across eight countries with Austria and Italy holding larger portions? In Switzerland, Lucerne is the closest city to Swiss Alps. At a nearby village Engelberg, I was lucky to see the impressive Mt. Titlis at close range. The village is such a beautiful and peaceful resort. It would be nice if I could stay here for a few days.

Lucerne, this is my second time came to this city. I revisited the lion monument, which Mark Twain once described as “the most mournful and moving piece of stone in the world”, and the postcard bridges and towers. Of course I had to buy some fine Swiss chocolate to bring home.

When I arrived at Liechtenstein in March, I instantly liked the place. Liechtenstein, one of Europe’s smallest countries, on one side is Alpine and on the other side is Rhine River. The air was cold, crisp and so fresh. The landscape was amazing. It made me wonder how happy people must be living there.

Mondsee is an Austria gem. Mondsee is a town located on the shore of the Lake Mondsee. The town is home to the historic medieval Mondsee Abbey. The church was used for the site of the wedding in The Sound of Music. Standing on the shore of Lake Mondsee, I can see the Alpine in distance, the view was absolutely breathtaking.

There are many beautiful Alpine villages I would like to see, this would be my goal for a future trip.
